Our 2020/2021 Covid-19 Pandemic Laptop for Schools Project
During 2020 / 2021 we at Wightbyte decided that we wanted to play our part in helping struggling families in these extremely difficult times with homeschooling their children during the Coronavirus pandemic, who couldn’t afford a computer.
So we reached out to the Island’s residents who responded to our call and very kindly donated any old laptops and tablets that they were no longer using to our cause.
We then proceeded to check each laptop and upgrade them necessary, we then restored every laptop to factory defaults and securely erased all existing customer personal data. Once finished we thoroughly sanitised and delivered them to local schools who then handed them out to the families that the schools felt were most in need.
We would like to say a huge thank you to all those people who very kindly donated to this worthwhile cause.
Special mentions: A big thank you also goes out to Lyn from ABiggerfish Letting Agent who went out of her way and bought four new tablets especially for our cause and to an amazing Isle of Wight charity Building Schools for Africa, who very generously donated a huge batch of laptops and tablets to our laptops for schools project.
